Timeless LDS Baptism Photos
My friend Alicia recently took these amazing LDS baptism photos of her little girl. They are stunning! I love how timeless her dress is and the setting is absolutely magical. It almost makes you feel like you have stumbled into another time. I have always thought that baptism photos should be classic and avoid being too trendy. Fads always pass and ten years from now you don’t want to be distracted by how out of date the photo looks. You want to be able to focus on your child’s sweet face and what this important step means in your child’s life. Some things were always meant to be timeless.
I also love how well she captures her daughter’s personality. A little bit sweet, a little bit sassy, a little bit tomboy, but absolutely ALL girl.

My Ladybug isn’t 8 years old yet, but she is starting to get very, very close. After seeing these photos, it is all I can do to not start dress shopping! I am going to have to really rein myself in. It is so tempting to go overboard with all the baptismal plans, but I want the day to be about her baptism. I don’t want to get distracted by everything else.
When my husband and I got married, we were careful to put our focus on the marriage ceremony and not on the reception. As I sat peacefully in the bride’s room of the temple, I was so glad we had made that decision. It really allowed me to focus on the covenants I was making and the blessings promised to me. I would hate to take that wonderful, focused, peaceful feeling from her special baptismal day.
But Ladybug is already very excited to get her very own charm bracelet. I have been making them since she was a toddler. Each charm represents a different aspect of how the Holy Ghost blesses us. It is a reminder of the things we have been promised when we covenant with the Lord.
