President Uchtdorf Rainbow Quote Visiting Teaching Printable
I saw these enormous lollipops at the 99 Cent Store the other day and had to buy them. The kid in me just couldn’t pass them up. Big, beautiful, colorful sugar! Every kid’s dream. I also thought the suckers would go perfectly with the wonderful President Uchtdorf rainbow quote from General Conference in 2014.
So I grabbed three for the sisters I visit teach and headed home to work on the printable.
I particularly love this quote because my little girl loves rain. She prays for rain every day and when it does rain, she heads outside and soaks up every drop she can. I love the full quote from “Grateful in Any Circumstances,” by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf:
“When we are grateful to God in our circumstances, we can experience gentle peace in the midst of tribulation. In grief, we can still lift up our hearts in praise. In pain, we can glory in Christ’s Atonement. In the cold of bitter sorrow, we can experience the closeness and warmth of heaven’s embrace.
We sometimes think that being grateful is what we do after our problems are solved, but how terribly shortsighted that is. How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God that there is rain?
Being grateful in times of distress does not mean that we are pleased with our circumstances. It does mean that through the eyes of faith we look beyond our present-day challenges.
This is not a gratitude of the lips but of the soul. It is a gratitude that heals the heart and expands the mind.”
