Sister Missionary Gift: Preach My Gospel Charm Bracelet
Perfect Sister Missionary Gift and Easy to Mail!
I have a cousin in the mission field and wanted to spend her something special, but it is hard to find the perfect sister missionary gift. So I have been doing a lot of research; trying to figure out the perfect message to put on a charm bracelet. And then I finally read “Becoming a Preach My Gospel Missionary” by Elder David A. Bednar. It’s PERFECT! It’s a talk he gave in the MTC and is of course amazing like all his talks. We have a special love for Elder Bednar in our house; my husband used to attend one of his classes at Rick’s and learned a lot from him.
The first charm on the bracelet is a bee. For me the bee is a wonderful symbol for missionary work. Missions involve so much hard work and a willingness to sacrifice for others. Elder Ballard’s talk “Be Anxiously Engaged” is also a wonderful talk about the honey bee and the power of our small and daily efforts. So to highlight the “bee” amount of work involved in “bee-coming” I decided to use the symbol of the bee for this talk.
I also included the initials of where she was serving her mission, the Michigan Detroit Mission. And the white pearl is to remind her how the atonement cleanses us and helps us achieve what we are incapable of by ourselves.
I made a few extra because I get the charms in bulk, so if you are looking for the perfect sister missionary gift, check out my store!
Below I have included the printable that I am sending her with the charms and their meanings.
I would have loved something like this when I was a sister missionary. I like to think of charm bracelets as a pep talk on your wrist. I wanted to include charms that would help buoy my cousin up during the hard times and help remind her of what an amazing thing she is doing. The charms also serve another purpose. They make the best visual aids for teaching children and she can use them to entertain investigators’ children during church. For that reason, I tried to pick charms that would also work well for lessons about the scriptures, the temple, or the Holy Ghost.
A lot of hard work and thought went into this bracelet! I wanted to find the perfect sister missionary gift and I am so excited to send it to her!
I would give this awesome bracelet to my favorite future sister missionary Emylly!
I would give this to my little sister. She is serving in the El Salvador San Salvador mission and loves the people as much as they love her. She would love to have this and the kids she teaches would love looking at each shiny charm and learning about the gospel to go with each one.
These are so cute!!
I think I would give it to my cousin who is on a mission.
I have my close friend who is leaving for mission next week, this is perfect for her as i have been so busy and did’nt have time to get her that something meaningful and diffrent.
Great! I am so glad you like it 🙂 Shipping is pretty fast and I can usually get it there within 4-5 business days, sometimes less.
