Rainbow Unicorn Snack Mix
It seems like any food with a unicorn theme includes a crazy amount of food coloring, a lot of artificial flavors, and tons of sugar – think Starbuck’s Unicorn Frappuccino. Maybe it is because one of the unicorn’s mystical powers is immunity to junk food (if I was a unicorn, that is what I would want my super power to be). While I appreciate a little sugar as much as the next person, I believe that not every special treat has to be a total health abomination. This Rainbow Unicorn Snack Mix is definitely not a health food, but it is a good deal better for you than most unicorn treats out there.
Best of all, it was yummy, easy to make, and the girls gobbled it up. I personally loved the contrast of the salty with the chocolatey. Hmmm….chocolatey.
Rainbow Unicorn Snack Mix
Ingredients
- Bugles (unicorn horns)
- Rainbow goldfish crackers
- M&M’s
- Popcorn (clouds)
Directions
Mix together the Bugles, goldfish, and popcorn in a large bowl. Sprinkle the M&M’s on top. I mix them in last because they are heavier and will settle to the bottom quickly.
I served the Rainbow Unicorn Snack Mix in small little bowls because I am not an idiot and knew that the kids would pick out the M&M’s if I let them serve themselves. Plus I am a bit of a germaphobe and don’t like it when little kids scoop out food with their hands. I have children and I know what is on those hands. Ewwww.
I got these cute little paper bowls from Amazon with rainbow polka dots. They looked so cute set out on the table.
