Santa Cookie Plate Kit With Vinyl and Printable

Growing up, we had a Santa Cookie Plate that we pulled out every Christmas and piled high with cookies for Santa. Of course we added a few carrots for the reindeer as well. I remember it was made out of wood and had a tole painted wooden Santa that sat on it. (Am I the only one that misses tole painting?) So I decided to make a Santa Cookie Plate Kit for some of our friends and neighbors this year.

You obviously have to label the plate so that Santa knows that the cookies are for him. He is not the type to just take things. I also added the family’s name on some of them so he knows who the cookies are from.

To wash the cookies down, I included a little Mason jar for milk. Santa prefers drinking out of a Mason jar because he is trendy like that. It also made the perfect place to store the sugar cookie mix. I used the recipe over at crazyforcrust.com, but made my own little printable with directions to add to the jars. It is cool because the mix kind of makes it look like there is already milk in the jar.

In each jar is:
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups flour

If you would like a copy of the Silhouette file I used for the vinyl, just drop me a comment and I can email it to you.

You can also add fun things like candy canes, sprinkles, frosting, and cookie cutters. It is such a fun gift and I loved making them!

Once I had all the pieces ready, I wrapped them up in cellophane!

I had a big scare last week though. I had just finished all the Santa Cookie Plate Kits when a wildfire started in our neighborhood. We were under mandatory evacuation and as I packed up all the essentials, I knew I wouldn’t have room to bring each Santa Cookie Plate kit with me. Luckily, the firefighters (bless them!) stopped the spread of the fire and everything was just fine. It was heartbreaking to think all my work could have gone up in smoke! Some of these photos were actually taken while my kids watched the fire burning from our backyard. We were keeping an eye on things and staging the photos was a great distraction. But talk about a perfect example of how things can look ideal online, even when everything is going crazy in the background!

I love how each Santa Cookie Plate Kit is a little bit different. I tried to match them to the personal tastes of my friends.
