Moana Boat Donut Birthday Cake

Moana Boat Donut Birthday CakeLadybug isn’t a big fan of cake. I don’t know what is wrong with the child, but I have learned that she isn’t the only one. We often have a lot of untouched or unfinished birthday cake at parties. But Ladybug is crazy about donuts and guess what? I don’t have to bake donuts! So doing a Moana Boat Donut Birthday Cake wasn’t a hard decision to make. Chocolate bar donuts look just like a boat when you stick a mast on them!

You can make the sail by using the printable below. These are designed to be printed on a tan or rustic textured paper. I think it looks more organic when the paper gives it the warmth and texture than trying to recreate it with toner. And I am a cheapskate when it comes to toner.

I then used skewers for the masts.

For the birthday girl, I printed out a Maui and Moana to stick on hers. Or if you wanted to go extra fancy, you could buy a Moana and Maui figurine.

And didn’t have any problems with leftover cake this year. The girls gobbled up their little Moana donut boats!

I noticed that after the donuts, all the girls had chocolate on their faces in all the photos. I love this age. They are growing up, but they are still totally kids!

On the table, all the donuts lined up looked like a fleet of boats! It reminded me of the flashbacks in the movie when it shows Moana’s ancestors traveling the seas. I even used a blue tablecloth with fishes on it to add to the effect.

“We read the wind and the sky
When the sun is high
We sail the length of sea
On the ocean breeze
At night we name every star
We know where we are
We know who we are, who we are”
