Owl Teacher Appreciation Gift – Sugar Cookies
I have lots of family and friends who teach, and they collect a lot of teacher-themed bric-a-brac over the years. So I have started to focus on gift cards and books, something a teacher can never have too much of! But just a gift card seemed a little boring, so this year I decided to pair it with a sugar cookie! I am also a sucker for puns, so this little owl teacher appreciation gift was a perfect fit.
Unfortunately, I stink at working with frosting or lettering. So I decided to team up with Jennifer over at Confetti Custom Cakes and Cookies, and I let her do all the hard work! And she definitely didn’t disappoint. The owls turned out so cute and I loved having the note on an actual cookie. If I could have my way, all notes would be written on cookies!
Jennifer also does the most amazing cakes. You can see more of her work over at https://www.facebook.com/customconfetticakes/.
While packaging the sugar cookies up to go in their boxes, I had the hardest time not eating one. I should have ordered a few extra!
Each note cookie says, “Thank you for ‘owl” that you do!” And is then paired with a cute little owl holding an apple.
I placed the pair in crystal clear boxes to keep them protected and show them off better than in a cello bag.
I also had a few extra owl teacher appreciation gifts made for the wonderful school staff members who work so hard to bless our family. Over the years, teachers have had a tremendous impact on my kids. So I love taking the opportunity to thank them for everything. Teaching isn’t easy work, but it makes a world of difference. It is important to remember that they don’t only need thanks and sugar cookies, but they need our support every day. Whether it is helping our kids with their homework, donating classroom supplies or volunteering in the classroom. The more involved we are, the better our kids do.
