You Rock Father’s Day Kid Craft

You Rock Father's Day Kid CraftFew things make me happier than cute, little kid crafts and terrible puns. So this Father’s Day kid craft is perfect! My kids also don’t like being told what to do, so we always do better with simple projects that allow them a lot of creative license. And it doesn’t get much simpler than painting a rock!

My kids and I went out rock hunting and then I let them pick a favorite color out of my paint stash. After the paint dried, I sprayed it with a coat of clear spray paint to make it shiny and help the paint last longer. The next day, I helped the kids hot glue gun on the wiggly eyes. Then I locked my inner perfectionist up tight and gave the kids a Sharpie to finish off the face. This one’s smile turned out the best. The others didn’t look much like smiles…but it doesn’t matter! What matters is that they made it and it comes from their heart. So you let it go.

One of my kids’ favorite things right now are Do A Dot Markers. They aren’t super messy and I love the designs they make. So I designed a card with bold, black lettering that the kids could fill in with the Do A Dot Markers.

We made one for our grandpas too, so I added a few cards that say “Grandpa” on them. We made these last year and they are still sitting on my husband’s dresser looking so cute and reminding my hubby that he totally rocks.
